I know - your neighbor's kid's friend can build you a website for free so why would you pay someone for it? Well, for the same reason you pay someone for your business cards and promotional material: you want it done right. You want someone who actually tests your website against multiple browsers and screen resolutions. Who understands that "SEO" is way more than just keywords and spamming your link all around town. Who fundamentally enjoys building quality websites that work for you, instead of just look good on your computer.

Your neighbor's kid's friend might work for free but let me ask you: do you print your business cards and promotional material on your home printer? Or do you pay a professional to get quality work?

Building a website from scratch or overhauling your existing web starts at $400 and might go up depending on how much custom work is required. For your money you get a pretty good list of services:

• A website built using Quam Plures (free open source CMS program)
• All the latest improvements to QP including some exclusive bits for my clients
• Hosting that website for one year (starts when you say "let's make it live")
• A customized template (look and structure of your pages)
• As many pages as you need (charging by the page ought to be illegal!)
• I'll set up your email accounts for you, and again as many as you need
• I'll help you organize your website for both visitors and search engines
• If possible, a favicon and smart phone shortcut built from your logo
• Support with whatever might go wrong or need changing at no charge
• Training on how to take care of changes to your content yourself

"Starting at $400" means it might cost more, so let's cover that now. IF you need a really customized plugin I'll have to charge you for the work involved. NOT by the hour or the line of code or the byte - all of those can be fluffed up just to jack up the cost. We will discuss it and come to an agreement, or we won't. Either way, you know your cost before you ever see an invoice from me. Over time you might decide you just don't want to add or change your content on your own. You want someone to do all that stuff. I'd rather teach you how to manage your content, but if you decide it is worth paying for the service then we'll agree on a fair rate for my time. Again you won't be surprised by a bill. We will agree up front, or not, but there will be no surprise invoices.

Let me say that again: with me there will be no surprise invoices.

Almost everything you will find on this website is free to download and use as you see fit. If you like something I coded a donation via paypal sure would be nice, but don't worry about it. If however you know that paying a professional to build a quality website makes sense then we should talk. Worst case? We decide to not do business. Best case is you get an awesome website at a great price.
